The Thrash-Metal-Trio Warfield from Germany contains exactly what the name does promise. Tight, unmistakable riffs and tons of shredding are unleashed upon the crowd at rapid speed! This furious attack is accompanied by energetic and fast drums. With hailing bassdrum-thunder, each stage is demolished within a short time, no matter if big or small! The lyrical content is based on political and social injustices and the wars of our "society" and is expressed in the most brutal way. There’s no time for experiments - aggression and rage are the highest precept. This musical battlefield that is Johannes Clemens (Vocals & Bass), Matthias Clemens (Guitar) and Dominik Marx (Drums) is inspired by bands like Slayer, Sodom or Kreator, mixed with the irresistible idols of the Bay Area. After the EP "Call to War" was published in 2014, the first official full-length album „Wrecking Command“ was unleashed in April of 2018 via the Italian label Metal on Metal Records. In 2024, the band joined forces with Napalm Records to release their second album “With The Old Breed” on April 4th, 2025!

Biography

Warfield was founded in 2012 when bassist Frederik Pütz joined Johannes and Matthias Clemens and Dominik Marx, who had already been playing together for several years. Inspired by the legacy of German Thrash Metal, the band quickly forged a sound defined by speed, precision, and unfiltered energy.

 

After early shows, Dominic Potts joined on second guitar. The debut EP „Call to War“ followed in October 2014 via IMM-Records/Membran. In early 2015, Ethan Stokes took over on bass and contributed to the single “Barrage Fire” and its accompanying video.

 

By the end of 2015, both Potts and Stokes had left the band and Marc Hirschbach filled in on bass for live duties. Warfield went on to perform relentlessly across Germany and neighboring countries — from club stages to festivals — earning a reputation as a high-energy live act and workhorse of the underground scene.

 

The band entered the studio in Kaiserslautern in early 2017 to record their debut album „Wrecking Command“, released in April 2018. Combining new material with reworked tracks from their first EP, it marked a key step in establishing Warfield’s fierce and uncompromising sound.

 

In the years that followed, Warfield expanded their reach far beyond their home base — touring the Czech Republic with Insanity Alert, sharing the stage with Bay Area icons Exodus, performing on the 70,000 Tons Of Metal cruise from Miami to Jamaica alongside Onslaught, Tankard and Dirkschneider, and playing in Bahrain with Swedish legends Necrophobic. Back on European soil, they shared stages with The Exploited, Abbath, Hypocrisy, Opeth, and many more — further cementing their standing as a dynamic and dedicated live force in today’s thrash landscape.

 

In 2024, Warfield signed with Napalm Records and released their second studio album „With The Old Breed“ in April 2025 — an album that captures more than a decade of dedication, endurance, and passion for authentic Thrash Metal.
